Audiobook Review – The Pursuit (Fox and O’Hare #5)

The Pursuit once again follows smooth ex-con Nick and intense FBI agent Kate on another one of their not-con (but very con-like) capers. Honestly, I think this one was a bit of a let down. Although of course there were more fun capers and banter, nothing really stood out with this one that was any different than the last four, and I was hoping for a little bit more of a satisfying conclusion for Lee Goldberg’s last entry in the series. While this has a been a short, light audiobook series, the formula does wear out after a while, and I don’t feel any need to continue the series. But now, I’ll have to spend some time exploring the library’s audiobook archives to find something new!

So long Nick & Kate, it’s been fun!

Audiobook Review – The Scam (Fox and O’Hare #4)

The Scam once again follows smooth ex-con Nick and intense FBI agent Kate on another one of their not-con (but very con-like) capers. All of our favorite side characters are back and we have a few more colorful bad guys to take down in a satisfying, smart action-packed adventure. Nick and Kate’s relationship continues to develop, and this time we even got a bit of a cliffhanger to take us into a Book 5 (which I already have downloaded, is the last book by both original authors, and the last I plan to read.) If you liked the first three books, and are looking for another light, fun bit of audiobook adventure, you’ll definitely like Book 4.

On to the last book!

Audiobook Review – The Job (Fox and O’Hare #3)

I really can’t get enough of Nick and Kate—the smooth conman and intense FBI agent. I love how through the books, they are ever so slowly drawing closer together, their comfort level increasingly growing, and even their attitudes leaning toward one another. The capers are always fun, the banter sharp, and it’s always good to see the recurring side characters staying on their entertaining different brands. I will say, the books are starting to become a bit formulaic… the ending of this one was almost exactly the same as book one, which was a little disappointing. But I totally plan to listen to the books 4 and 5 (the last two written by both Evanovich and Goldberg.) After all, who doesn’t love good clean fun?! I’m definitely along for the ride!

I can’t remember the last time I read a series longer than a trilogy. Keep ’em comin’!

Audiobook Review – The Chase (Fox and O’Hare #2)

Just a quick review for this one since it’s a sequel. The Chase by Evanovich and Goldberg backs in more of the stuff I loved from the first book! All of our favorite characters are back, the action is even more fast-paced than before, and Nick and Kate’s relationship continues to evolve with all the snappy banter you could want. The audiobook narrator is excellent, and I’ll be definitely checking out book 3 from the library. Solid five star heist book. I guess my only quibble is that it wraps up REALLY quick there at the end. While it could work as a stand-alone, I would recommend reading book one for the full effect. Also, for the record, I recommend the first book to my husband, and he also really enjoyed it and plans to read the second one, which is quite the recommendation! But seriously though, someone make these movies already – I neeeed them!!!
