Hi everyone! I’m Hayley Reese Chow, the author of Odriel’s Heirs—the 2024 winner of the YA IndieReader Discovery Awards, 2020 winner of the Florida Author Project, Silver Medalist in the 2022 International Readers’ Favorite Awards, & Wishing Shelf Book Award Bronze Medal Winner. I’m also the author of the Into the Churn series from Whimsical Publishing, House of the Chosen coming from Quill & Crow in March 2027, and co-author of Midnight Falls coming from Charlesbridge Publishing in September 2027.

Before I fell down the author rabbit hole, I did a lot of things that had nothing at all to do with writing. My hat collection includes mother, wife, engineer, USAF veteran, reservist, youth soccer coach, four-time All-American fencer, 100 mile ultramarathoner, triathlete, world traveler, voracious reader, and super nerd. I currently dodge hurricanes in Florida with two small book dragons, my long-suffering husband, and my miniature ragehound.

Represented by Kristen Terrette at Martin Literary.

If you want to know more about why I don’t use GenAI, you can find my thoughts here. If you’d like to learn more about me, I’ve had the honor of participating in a few interviews around the web.

Here’s one one on Death Games with Speculative Sandbox.

And one on my upper-MG, The Gatekeeper of Pericael, from Literary Titan.

Here’s an interview with Trenzle on writing and some of my work!

And I had a ton of fun in this amazing conversation with The Writing Community Chat Show!

Thanks to All Author for the interview touching on Odriel’s Heirs, The Gatekeeper of Pericael, and even a little bit about me.

Here’s one from the Indie Author Project alongside the other fabulous winners! (Click on Florida to see mine.)

If you want to peek in on a fun conversation I had with Jeff Bacon on DIY writer you can find it on Youtube, Podbean, Spotify, Stitcher, or Tunein. I think we covered ragehounds, write/life balance, social media, & even cussing! All while I hid from my kids in my closet. 😂

If you want to hear more about Odriel’s Heirs and my self-publishing journey, you can find it here in my interview with the Fiction Addiction podcast.
